The “STIGMA” Short film project kick started on Saturday 12th April 2015 when Nes G announced it to the members of The Ghetto Film Project, and this was followed by making of the film’s props, The youths in the project teamed up with the kids to start making the props like Cars made from wire and rubber, Dolls made from banana fibers, where the Males teach the male kids how to make cars and the female youths teach the females how to make dolls. Yesterday was the third day of the “STIGMA” film project(which I attended) and so far so good 3 good cars have been made and 4 dolls, thumbs up to the teams that put this together. Roy Cwinytado, one of the youths who were teaching kids how to make cars told me that they have like 2 more cars to be done with the car props which is expected to be finalized next Saturday 2nd May 2015 when The Ghetto Film Project happens again.

One of most interesting and touching fact about The Ghetto Film Project is “The Mentorship Program” , in this program, the youths in the Project each picks up 3 kids to mentor according to his or her profession or possessed skills and oh this still happened today and I was lucky enough that I got my 3 kids, yeah am now a father of 3 kids if you may say, One male and two girls, but the funniest thing was I accidentally got one of the most stubborn/bigheaded boys in the project (Kizza Caesar) who is just 5 years old who told me that he didn’t know what he wants to be in future but when I mentioned Pilot he got stuck on that and whispered to me like “Samuel I fear acting in movies” haha , and on the other hand I also got a 7 year old girl (Naomi Majo) who is the opposite of the boy, in that she doesn’t want anything to do with anyone, for her she doesn’t want to be anything in life, oh phew, so I have to mentor both of these to a better line of life, the 3rd one is easy to handle because she is (Mercy Bridget) 13 and a bit understanding, she wants to be a doctor, furthermore she is in for becoming an actress, oh yeah that’s great. Well other people got their kids as well, I just shared the little experience I got about mine, I might be having the weird combination to mentor! Well let’s get to business…

The Synopsis of this film:
7 year old Acen born HIV Positive lives through discrimination in a society that pins her for being HIV positive. Parents around home won’t let their kids play with her while teachers in school make fun of her and is labeled “who not to be” by everyone around her. She can’t take it anymore, she takes her own life.

The Moral of this story:
Stop discrimination against people living positive, pointing a finger adds nothing to you while may cost a life its joy yet lending a hand takes nothing from you but gives back the hope of living to one that needs it. People dont die the day they commit suicide, they die each day you point a finger.

The film will star former The Hostel Series- NTV (season one) actress Akite Agnes in the supporting role , Samuel Saviour (eh thats me hehe) along side The New Hostel Series actress Kobusingye jean Jovitah, Testament KJ, Kobusingye Rachael and more including 39 amazing children from The Ghetto Film Project.
